About the WFI

The Worldwide Freedom Initiative is an annual international summit created by Republicans Overseas. The gathering brings together center-right and conservative elected officials, grassroots activists, business leaders and other public figures to preserve and protect individual freedoms in the face of the woke, globalist agenda.

In January 2023 over a cup of coffee, Solomon Yue and Kerry McQuisten discussed the necessity of pushing back against the extremist far-left agenda promoted by other annual international gatherings, tryannical governments and even the legacy media. The effects of such agendas have caused incalculable emotional, economic and physical damage around the world. But worst of all—they incrementally strip away individual freedoms and national sovereignty no matter the country of residence.

Kerry had researched the history and structure of those woke-promoting conferences and their founders. She proposed an annual international counter-conference to their messaging, bringing together conservative political and industry leaders.

Ever since his life-changing trip to Greece in 2019 in which he found himself inside that country's "no-go zone," Solomon had envisioned a global grassroots gathering to help elect conservative public officials around the world. Perhaps their two concepts could be combined?

They got on the phone with Randy Yaloz in the Republicans Overseas France office. In 2022, Randy had proposed to RO the idea of forming a private thinktank with paid memberships, networking conservatives together internationally.

A blending of pieces from each concept occured. The three began planning for a new annual summit under the Republicans Overseas umbrella. Paris was a natural inaugural location. An army of volunteers came together to organize and host the event. Thus, the WFI movement was born.

This year, with the help of our sponsors, The Danube Institute, we're pleased to announce this year's event will be held in Budapest, Hungary.

About Budapest

Budapest, Hungary’s stunning capital city, is a blend of ancient architecture and contemporary culture. The city has a population of about 1.7 million, with the entire surrounding metro population raising that number to 3 million. Budapest was founded in 1873. The River Danube bisects the city.

Transportation

Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport, commonly known as Ferihegy, is the main international airport serving Budapest.. The airport is located 16 km (10 miles) southeast of Budapest city center. Taxis and the Bolt rideshare service are available, as are well-established bus and metro lines. Most areas of the city are very walkable.

Guests of the Worldwide Freedom Initiative may wish to extend their stay and explore the city. Budapest is famous for its many thermal spas where these hot springs can carry your worries away.
